Too often, the leaders are getting all of the credit.  Some of them are so arrogant that they gladly accept it and do not acknowledge all of the team that did the majority of the work.

The Bible does not tell us that one position or job performed is greater than another one.  It says that we should approach whatever we do with the best effort that we can and not worry about how others think.  In Ephesians 6:7-8 it says “Work with enthusiasm, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.  Remember that the Lord will reward each one of us for the good we do.”

I want you to take a look at this approach to work from two perspectives.  The first one is from the view of the person performing the work.  Even though you may not get recognized for what you do, you should not let it get you down.  Your efforts should be as though your annual review will be done by our heavenly Father.  Would you give Him anything less than your best?  God will always provide for your needs.  Do not feel that your job is less important than someone else’s.  It takes all of the individual jobs to make the team successful.

I live in Nashville, known as Music City.  Imagine what a concert would be like if there was not the team of people behind the scenes setting up the stage, working the sound board, preparing the light show, etc.  The singers and band get all of the attention, but they would not be as impressive without the other support.  Every role in the process is important in producing the final result.

The other perspective is that of a leader.  Are you the person that is getting more of the recognition for what your team is accomplishing?  You need to remember to thank those that work with you.  You should make sure that they get the proper credit.  Remember that there is no job too small.  Your team is probably the main reason that you are successful.  If you think that you can make it on your own and be successful, without any help, give it a try.  When reality sets in, you will understand the truth.
