Proverbs 16:9 (ESV)
The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.

Over the past six months, I have told you about my goal of running the half marathon in Nashville at the end of April.  I have followed a plan to build up the miles over time to get myself in shape enough to accomplish this goal.  I struggled with muscle pains in the beginning.  Each month along my journey it got easier.  I knew that I would never be a fast runner, but was pleased with the progress that I was making.  Then comes a fall off of a ladder.

I met with the surgeon today and I will need to have surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff.  After surgery, I will have my arm in a sling for a while.  The doctor told me that I cannot run the half marathon, but he would let me walk it.  I am disappointed, but still happy.  God had different plans for me.  He has backed me down to a walk.  It is not for me to question why.  I trust that His plans are much greater than mine.

In Sunday school this week, we were discussing Palm Sunday and the significance in our lives.  We looked at all of the things that were prophesized hundreds of years before Jesus walked into Jerusalem that day.  God knows our future and only He knows what path we will take.  We do have a certain amount of choice, but He can reel us back into His plan.  Have faith in Him and trust that He will take care of you.

I have had many friends praying for my shoulder to heal quickly.  I have responded to them by saying that God has already assured me that it would be healed.  He had just not told me when and how.  Do not be discouraged by some of the setbacks in your life.  With God in charge, all is well.  There is no reason to stress about anything.  Continue to count your blessings.  It is all in your attitude.

2013 is my best year ever!  Stay blessed.  Happy Easter, for He is risen!
